A post natal doula is someone who provides practical and emotional support to new families after the birth of their children. This is a special time full of joy, however it is also a time when families can encounter challenges. By alleviating some of the worries and day to day chores, a doula can relieve much of the stress of early parenthood and help create a safe space for bonding and adapting. A doula's role is not prescriptive, but can include practical chores, providing information, emotional support and signposting to other local postnatal services.
